How to Fix Discord Overlay Issues On Windows 10?

See whether an in-game overlay is turned on in Discord


Firstly, go to the Discord application by the desktop shortcut or else Start menu.Then, press on user settings.Next, visit the left-hand side of the screen and press on Overlay.After that, go to the right part of the page and push the switch for turning on the option stating ‘Enable in-game overlay.’Then, visit the left-hand side of the screen.Next, tap on ‘Game Activity.’ It will be located under App Settings.Go to the right-hand side of the screen and search the game that you are playing, ensure that Overlay is switched on for it. If Overlay has been disabled, press the monitor option for enabling it. Whereas, if the overlay is turned on, then you require to switch it off and then turn it on.After that, you need to save the settings.Lastly, re-launch the game.


Turn on the Overlay Hotkey


Firstly, launch Discord.Then, press on User Settings.After that, press on Overlay. It will be located under the left-hand side under App Settings.Next, create a hotkey.Then, use it for calling Discord overlay after you again open the game.


Change the Display Scale


Firstly, press on Windows+I button on your keyboard.Then, tap on System.After that, choose Display.Next, visit the right part of the window.Then, expand the pull-down. It will be located under the ‘Scale and Layout’ part.After that, choose 100% (Suggested).Lastly, run the game. 


Turn off the Hardware Acceleration




Firstly, go to Discord. For that, do double click on the desktop shortcut.Then, press on User Settings.After that, visit the left-hand side of the screen.Next, tap on Appearance.Go to the right-hand side, move downwards to Hardware Acceleration, and tap on the switch for disabling it.After that, tap on OK whenever shown a confirmation prompt.Whenever Discord restarts, the problem would have been resolved.


See if the Antivirus/Windows Firewall is stopping the Overlay


Firstly, launch the Start menu.Then, write Firewall into the search box.After that, press on Windows Firewall from the given options.Next, move to the left-hand side of the screen.Then, tap on ‘Turn Windows Firewall on or off.’After that, choose ‘Turn off Windows Firewall (Not suggested).Lastly, press on the OK option for saving the changes made by you.
